Promotion of the Spanish Biotech industry in London

Last 8th May, the Spanish embassy in London held the seminar “Science in Spain 2017 – Biotech Industry” Science in Spain 2017 – Biotech Industry”, which is part of the campaign “Science in Spain” that aims to promote internationally the Spanish system for science, technology and innovation, and to increase science mobility between countries.

Career Guidance Conference at the University of Barcelona

The Biotechnology Business Institute held its annual professional orientation course at the Biology Faculty of the University of Barcelona, together with the Catalan Association of Biotechnologists.

BIO Europe Spring Barcelona 2017

The 2017 edition brought together more than 2,500 delegates from 1,440 companies from 58 countries. The tradeshow set a record in Catalan presence: 110 companies and institutions and 195 delegates.

Two companies have received the CataloniaBio 2017 BioSuccess Award in recognition of the milestones they have reached over the past year in the health and life sciences area in Catalonia: Mosaic Biomedicals, a spin-off of the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO) and the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) founded by Dr Joan Seoane, Dr Judit Anido and Dr Josep Baselga, and STAT-Diagnostica, created by engineers Jordi Carrera and Rafel Bru.

IV National Congress of Entrepreneurial Scientists

It aims to boost the creation of companies with a scientific and technological base, to make the figure of the entrepreneurial scientist more visible, to create synergies between the different agents of the sector and to inspire the new generations that will build the knowledge society of the future.

En 2016 el Informe Cotec incorpora nuevos capítulos dedicados a la educación, la innovación social y la financiación de la innovación, al tiempo que se crea una página web exclusiva de Informe Cotec que ofrece la posibilidad de elaborar gráficas propias a partir de la base documental histórica de los principales indicadores incluidos en el informe.
